Hello, my name is Brian Lacourse and I live in Fairplay, Colorado. I am a Desert Storm veteran ( MS2/SS, USS Tennessee SSBN 734 Blue crew). I went into End Stage Renal Failure four years ago and have been on dialysis for four years now. Due to my dialysis schedule I have been unable to work. I am on the transplant list at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical center in Aurora Colorado. I have found myself using up all my savings dealing with this disease and I am now reaching out for help. I have never asked anyone for anything and this is very difficult for me but I have no other choice. I am currently on top of the transplant list and if I get the call I won't be able to support myself for the three months after the transplant. This is why I am asking for help. I was also in a terrible accident on June 4th of this year and spent 5 weeks in the St. Anthony's trauma 1 center in Lakewood, Colorado where I had six surgeries including my spleen being removed. It has been extremely rough the past six months for me and this is why I am reaching out. I just don't want to be another homeless veteran on the street due to medical bills.
