We are trying to raise some money for our 18 yr boy Peter Elliott. We are his parents - Mark & Julie Elliott.
Peter was recently diagnosed with a very rare & aggressive vascular tumour in his head - ( behind his nose) it's called
Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma.(JNA).
It almost exclusively happens in young men aged from 10 - 18 years of age. Surgery has been booked for 6th May, 2025. The funds raised will go towards that .
Peter has always been a sport orientated boy.
He started playing football ( soccer) with Winston Hills Bears at age 5 until present - he hasn't been able to play & won't be able to for a few months as any knock to his head could have serious consequences. So he turns up at training with his team mates twice a week & sits on the bench during games to support them.
He started his cricket career at Winston Hills Cricket Club when he was 8 & only stopped last season.
He also played rep cricket for North West Sydney Hurricanes & Parramatta - captaining both teams.
He played a number of seasons with Hills Bulls oz-tag.
He went to Winston Heights public school fom Kindy to year 6 & represented the school in football, cricket, cross country, touch footy & athletics. Helping his school win a few titles along the way.
He went to Model Farms high school from year 7 to year 12 (finishing last year). He also represented the school in football, cross country, athletics , cricket & hockey.
The school won the Davidson Shield last year for the best cricket team in NSW public system. Then they took out the overall trophy for beating the best of the selective schools.
They also won the hockey.
Peter also took up athletics at Quakers Hill Little Athletics when he was 6 - trying to keep up with his older sister Zoe. He was a natural- but trained hard in all his sports. He won many medals at gala days etc & state titles in a variety of events. He broke the NSW & National u9 700m racewalking title by nearly 10 seconds in 2016 & still stands today. He also represented a newly established athletic club in 2018 - The Ponds Little Athletics Club & was one of the first to represent that club at State competitions & walked away with some medals.
He loves to go to the gym, goes to the driving range when he can & golf rounds with his mates .
His big passion is fishing. He puts a line in the water when he can, when he hasn't got his kayak. Trying to catch that 1m flattie (which he has come close a number of times).
He loves his dachshunds Frankie , Willow & Teddy. He makes sure to pat them when he gets home & even gets a lick.
He just started his first real job out of school at Oatlands Golf Club with a few of his close friends. He has his licence, paying off a car. I think he has bonus points from the divethru at Maccas getting his frozen coke.
He like spending time with his friends at the Winsto & other establishments.
When this diagnosis came about, you always think it can't be your family that is impacted - we will stay strong as a family & his friends.
His life is just starting & if you have had the chance to know Pete over the years - you know he is a good boy & is summed up in one word - LOYAL.
If anyone can share with above mentioned clubs or through social media , that would be fantastic.
Please give whatever support you can. We as a family will be grateful to get any support to ease the financial burden during this extremely hard & anxious period of our families lives.
