Hi, my name is Lou Rivera. I am fundraising for my sister and her family. My nephews both have had to have surgeries to correct the Saggital Craniosynostosis. This means that their heads hardened too quickly, preventing their brains from continuing to grow and learn. The doctors had to put distractors into the top and back of their heads. The point of the distractors is to expand their heads to relieve pressure, give the ability for the brain to grow, and for the boys to continue through life to learn and grow.

They have a long recovery ahead, and both parents are on FMLA. As we all know, FMLA does not pay 100% of pay, and they will have a hard time trying to make not only the medical bill payments but everyday monthly bills.
