Medical bills and at home medical supplies

Hello everyone. We are the Torres Family and we are fundraising for my Mom, Velia Torres. On October 5th my Mother went into the ER suffering from a seizure. She had never had one before and after some CT scans and MRI doctors told us she had a Meningioma Tumor on the right side of her brain. We decided to go through with the surgery to remove the tumor. On October 10th she had the surgery and things did not go as we had hoped. As a result of the surgery she suffered a stroke that has unfortunately caused her to be immobile from her left side. She was comatose for all of October and most of November. Without going into too much detail, her body went through a lot those first couple of months. She started opening one of her eyes and moving her right arms, hand, and foot. She would respond to commands when asked to hold up 2 fingers or squeeze our hands. She has been in the hospital a total of 68 days and counting. My Mom does not have insurance. Medical bills are racking up as well as our new obstacle we have to hurdle over. These past 3 weeks they have tried capping off her trach tube she had and she has been a little more alert as well as able to speak a couple of words which we are soo sooo thankful for! However, the doctors now want to send her home this week. We were not approved for financial assistance for placement at a Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. She might have to come home. We are raising money to get any medical supplies we are going to need for at home care as well as try and pay some of these bills. We are pursuing other programs to help provide services for my Mother during this time as well.

My Mom is a proud Grandma. An amazing Mother. A loving wife. A great Sister. A proud Panther graduate. She is known as Velita aka "little candle," and she definitely lights up everyone's world around her! We have hesitated in doing this but believe now is the time and anything that can be given will be greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone from all of my family and my father. God Bless you all.
