Help Vern Garcia With Medical & Rehab Costs

Hello my name is Amanda Garcia and I'm raising money for my father Vernon Garcia. On Monday October 23, 2023 he was out for a walk to a local market when he was stuck by a vehicle. He has sustained extensive injuries including, breaking both his legs, breaking his dominant arm from his shoulder to his wrist, damaging his rotator cuff, broken ribs, and breaking vertebrae in his neck.

As of Thursday October 26th he has undergone three surgeries in an attempt to fix his legs and his arm. Doctors say that he has many more surgeries ahead of him to fix the tendon, ligament, and muscle damage he also sustained. He's been in the ICU since he arrived at the trauma center and is likely to stay there for quiet a while. When he does eventually leave the hospital he will need to spend some time at a rehab center.

My brothers and I are starting this fund in the hopes of offsetting some of the cost of his care and hope to create a little nest egg to help him get back on his feet after he's healed. At the time of his accident Vern was recently laid off from work resulting in losing his home so he was living out of an old car he was trying to fix up. He had just got an offer of a new job and was due to start soon. In the accident he lost the last of his savings that he was using to fix his car, so the man doesn't have a penny to his name. Our family doesn't have the extra funds to cover more than just the absolute basics.

This is going to be a long hard road to recovery for Vern. He and our family appreciate all the positive energy, well wishes, and prayers that have been sent his way already and welcome more.
