Hi all! My name is Steve Woolbright. I’m asking for help in raising funds so that I can get a major surgery done on my right shoulder. 5 years ago, I was playing in a 3vs3 grass volleyball tournament in Memphis, Tennessee. It had been raining the whole weekend, so it was a very wet and slippery ground. As I was going in one direction full speed, the ball was deflected at the net, and when I tried to stop to change direction, I lost my footing and went flying in the air. As I was landing, I naturally reached down to try to break my fall, and my arm/shoulder dislocated in a way my arm was behind my head. It was a gruesome dislocation.

My whole life, I had never had anything happen to my right arm. Up until then, I could still throw a football 60 yards and a baseball close to 90 mph. My whole life, the only thing I’ve been great at is sports. Basketball was my first love, but I excelled in many sports. Beach volleyball took over my life in 2017, and I competed all over the southeast, somewhere every weekend until this happened.

I was talked out of having surgery and told that I could rehab it back to normal. Well, 5 more dislocations later, that didn’t work lol.

It’s gotten to where the smallest wrong movement the wrong way will dislocate it. And every time, I try myself to put it in but never can, resulting in a trip to the ER. I have to get this surgery, but without help financially, I can’t.
