My name is Lori Bell. I am fundraising for money for a surgical procedure. On June 12, 2020, I contracted COVID-19. I have been diagnosed with COVID Long Haul, in which I still have complications from COVID. One of the complications I developed is Lymphedema.

Lymphedema is a chronic debilitating disease. Lymphedema occurs when the lymphatic vessels are in some way damaged or failing, which leads to a buildup of lymphatic fluid in the tissues. Due to this fluid transport disorder I have swelling, inflammation, pain and discomfort in my legs and thighs. I have difficulty in walking and performing daily activities.

Although, Lymphedema is chronic and progressive, surgical procedures can alleviate the symptoms, pain, and discomfort. I am seeking Lipo for Lymphedema. This is a treatment that my healthcare insurance will not cover. This procedure is routinely covered in numerous other developed countries, yet it is still inconsistently covered in the United States.

This is why I am reaching out asking for your help. This procedure can restore my health, mobility and improve my quality of life.
