My name is Marie Dauz-Slife and I am Chester's sister. I am starting this page on behalf of my brother and his family during this time.
On September 6, 2025, our family was forever changed when Chester, Rebekah, their son, Isaiah and their daughter were involved in a devastating car accident while traveling together. What began as a day of celebration of life ended in tragedy, pain, and the beginning of a long, emotional road to healing.
Just before the accident, our family had gathered together for something truly special—Baby Marlito Nikaoh’s 4D ultrasound appointment. We watched in awe as he smiled, sucked on his thumb, and moved around so full of life. We heard his strong heartbeat echo in the room, and we were all overwhelmed with love and excitement. That moment felt like a celebration of the life we were all preparing to welcome with open arms. We never imagined that soon after, everything would change.
Rebekah and her son Isaiah sustained life-threatening injuries and are now on the slow and difficult path to recovery. Their strength has been nothing short of miraculous. By the grace of God and the power of prayer, they are still with us—but their journey is far from over.
Tragically, Rebekah was 7 months pregnant, and they lost their baby boy in the accident. He was already deeply loved, and his name—chosen in honor of our late father—will now live on in our hearts and memories. Our family will be preparing for his funeral while navigating the emotional and physical recovery of the entire household.
Although Chester and their daughter were spared from life threatening injuries, the emotional toll on them and the rest of the family is profound. This accident has impacted every corner of their lives—emotionally, spiritually, and logistically.
This GoFundMe is not for medical costs. It is intended to help with:
- Funeral/memorial expenses for their precious baby boy
- Ongoing support for the family as they heal and transition back into life
- Daily/future needs and stability during a time of overwhelming grief and recovery
We are beyond grateful to all who have reached out with messages, prayers, meals, and offers of support. Your love has given us strength. For those asking how to help in a tangible way, this fundraiser will help ease the financial burdens no family should ever have to face alone.
Thank you for loving this family. Thank you for standing beside them.
With love and gratitude,
Dauz Family
