Molly has been engaged in this most bewildering of battles—a year and a half confronting breast cancer—with a grace and tenacity that somehow manage to defy the grim inevitabilities that modern medicine so bluntly reminds us of. Her journey—filled with surgeries, rounds of chemo, and those small victories that sometimes feel like entire universes of progress—is not merely a chronology of medical events but a narrative of unwavering human spirit.

Jeff has been by Molly’s side through all of this. They had just begun the great and ordinary project of building a life together, fixing up his mother’s house, turning it into something warm and good and theirs. Jeff has also stepped into the role of father to Molly’s two children, offering them stability and love and all the quiet, thankless things that make up real devotion.

Now, as Molly begins a new phase of treatment focused on her comfort and quality of life, she continues to embrace hope and the possibility of each new day. This change means that Jeff will need to take time away from work to care for Molly and the family, adding practical challenges to an already difficult journey.
