In 2020, my sister’s life changed forever when she was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumour. She went through a major operation where part of the tumour—and part of her brain—had to be removed. It was the start of a long and difficult journey for her and our whole family. Her partner had to leave work to become her full-time carer.

For a while, we held onto hope through regular check-ups and the possibility that the cancer might not return. But last year, we received devastating news—it had spread to her lungs, liver, spleen, and ribs. At one point, we were told there might be nothing more doctors could do.

She continued to fight with everything she had. One type of chemotherapy gave us hope when it seemed to be working, but sadly it suddenly stopped. Another treatment was tried, but her body hasn’t responded.

Now, her lungs are repeatedly filling with fluid, and she has to go through regular draining procedures that leave her in pain and completely exhausted.

We’ve now been told that she doesn’t have long left. Despite everything, she continues to show incredible strength every single day.

We are sharing her story to ask for support during this heartbreaking time. Any help, no matter how small, will make a difference and allow us to focus on being there for her, making her as comfortable as possible, and cherishing every moment we have left together.
