"2 weeks ago Briana was diagnosed with ADEM.
ADEM is a disease that attack the good cells in the body causing inflammation in the brain and spine affecting the nerves in her body.
Briana was admitted to the ICU with a severe case of ADEM. Her entire body was not moving and very weak. Initially she was treated with high dosage steroids. On day 3, Briana dipped down into unconscious state and her heart rate had dropped. In that time so many prayers were said. Jeremey and I have never felt so helpless as our world seemed to be crashing down around us. All we could do was pray on our knees to humble ourselves knowing she was in God's hands. As early morning came she awoke and began to speak and even sang "happy birthday" to me.
God has been by our side and continues to bring healing to Bri. After 3 days of progression of the disease, the plan changed to doing plasmasyeresis, cleaning of the blood. She would have 6 treatments total every other day. The doctors were very swift with this change. She had a central line put in and catheter for the plasma exchange. After every treatment she had big changes of positive improvements and the doctors have been amazed with her progress. We give God all the glory in this healing.

Briana will be moving to the therapy floor Monday to begin intense therapy to walk and gain strength. Her time at Akron Children's Hospital is unknown but we take it day by day as we have been. Her progress continues to amaze us all and her strong will and faith keep her pushing to the fullest of her daily ability."
Any funds donated will go directly to Briana and her family to help cover medical expenses. Since the duration of hospital stay and further treatment is unknown, we welcome all donations and only set a goal for the sake of the fundraiser.
