Our beloved brother Eduardo was born with myelomeningocele, a type of spina bifida, and hydrocephalus. He joined our family when he was just 4 years old — an angel that God sent to us. Since then, Eduardo has filled our lives with joy, love, and hope.

Our parents have always done everything possible to give him the best care. Over the years, Eduardo has needed five surgeries to replace his ventriculoperitoneal shunt, along with many other medical treatments due to his condition.

A month ago, he had to undergo another shunt replacement. Sadly, three weeks after the surgery, the shunt got infected. Doctors had to operate again to remove it and place a temporary drain. He then received a week of IV antibiotics, and once the infection cleared, he underwent another surgery to place a new shunt.

We are kindly asking for your support to help cover his hospital and medical expenses. Any donation, no matter the amount, will be received with immense gratitude.

It’s very important for us that Eduardo is treated in a hospital where we can stay by his side 24 hours a day, since he cannot care for himself and becomes very anxious and scared when left alone.

Nuestro queridísimo hermano Eduardo nació con mielomeningocele, un tipo de espina bífida, e hidrocefalia. Llegó a nuestra familia cuando tenía apenas 4 años, como un angelito que Dios nos envió. Desde entonces, Eduardo ha llenado nuestras vidas de alegría, amor y esperanza.

Mis padres siempre han hecho todo lo posible por darle lo mejor. A lo largo de su vida, Eduardo ha necesitado cinco cirugías para reemplazar su válvula ventrículo-peritoneal, además de muchos otros cuidados médicos debido a su condición.

Hace un mes tuvo que someterse nuevamente a un cambio de válvula. Lamentablemente, tres semanas después de la operación, la válvula se infectó. Los médicos tuvieron que intervenirlo otra vez para retirarla y colocarle un drenaje temporal. Luego recibió una semana de antibióticos intravenosos y, una vez la infección cedió, fue nuevamente intervenido para colocarle otra válvula.

Estamos solicitando su colaboración para cubrir los gastos hospitalarios y médicos. Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña que sea, será recibida con enorme gratitud.

Para nosotros es fundamental que Eduardo sea siempre tratado en un hospital donde podamos acompañarlo las 24 horas, ya que no puede valerse por sí solo, necesita asistencia constante y se pone muy nervioso y ansioso cuando está solo.
