with expenses related to baby Lawson

Having another addition to the family is always the best news ever. Lots of excitement and joy, topped with the hope and anticipation of a healthy baby.

Danielle and Micheal went for their routine ultrasound and fetal scan on August 30th which was Danielle's 28th week of pregnancy. During this ultrasound things began to look unusual and concerning. The news was given that the baby had a mass on his Right lung and Danielle was to report to Hopkins urgently the next morning. In the last six weeks, Danielle has been admitted to Johns Hopkins for urgent work up and a 4 day stay for steroids and testing. Baby was diagnosed with a Bronchogenic cyst on his right upper and middle lobes. Right now delivery is scheduled for October 18th via c-section.

There are obviously alot of variables related to his overall outcome. What is known, is that he will need emergency surgery removing two lobes of his Right lung, also likely on lung bypass as soon as he's born. Danielle and Micheal have been attending appointments 3 times a week for scans of the baby to ensure him being stable, and able to stay inutero as long as possible. But now that a date is set, the realization is building.

Over the last 6 weeks medical expenses are starting to build, as well as life expenses due to loss of work for both Danielle and Micheal.

It took alot of convincing before Danielle and Micheal consented to us making this page asking for help. So many people have reached out asking how they can help and we felt this would be a resource.

This will be marathon ahead. The team at Hopkins has relayed that the baby could be hospitalized for 6-8wks depending on how his surgery goes and overall outcome is unknown.
