with expenses for Legend Tate
Donation protected
Hi my name is Nicole Tate. I am the mother of 2yr old Legend Tate. Legend was born with an extremely rare condition called Ipex Syndrome. Ipex effects approximately 1 in every 1.5 million males. It is a disease of the immune system, and while there are an array of symptoms, it particularly attacks the digestive system. In addition to digestive issues, Legend experiences episodes of high blood pressure, and began taking medication for that, in addition to immunosuppressants at age one. He regularly appears swollen, and has difficulty walking at times. He has had multiple hospitalizations, and just completed four (4) rounds of chemotherapy. On tomorrow, June 22, 2022, he will have a bone marrow transplant to prayerfully alleviate some of his symptoms. His 14yr old sister Madison will be the donor. Legend is not able to be around other kids without special precautions because his immune system is weak. My life is totally centered around him, and his well being. He is currently at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans. I have incurred a lot of expenses traveling back and forth, and by simply being able to adequately care for him to this point. I am not currently in a position to work, and we anticipate him being hospitalized for a couple of months post transplant. That will result in even more expenses. It is important that I maintain a place for him to return to, with minimal exposure to others upon discharge. Donations of any amount, to help with these expenses will be greatly appreciated. Most importantly, I ask that you keep Legend, myself, and all those who know and love him dearly, in your hearts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Nicole Tate, Legend’s Mommy
