Hello Friends and Family

Many of you know Dan Gale from the disc golf course and his pure love of the game. Most of the year if he was not working or had a special family occassion he was out on the course playing. We have a putting basket set up in our front yard that he could be heard throwing discs into before work, after work or on days he couldn't make it out to the course. He met many people who had a significant impact on his life. At times his wife (Sara) would joke that he loves disc golf more than he did her (obviously not the case). If he couldn't find someone to play with or it was too late to putt outside Dan would watch disc golf coverage on youtube. It is definitely one of his many passions that also include cooking and playing his guitars and singing.

Early on the morning of Saturday May 13th Sara (Dan's wife) found Dan laying in the bathtub unable to get out and unable to speak to her. He was transported to Holland Hospital and was given a CT scan and a left side brain bleed was discovered. He was then moved to Butterworth in downtown Grand Rapids where he had surgery to stop the bleed and save his life. He is currently unable to move his right arm and leg, speak more than a few words understandably, and swallow. He will be in the hospital for the forseeable future because of this there will be many medical expenses, and at this time we do not have medical insurance.

We are raising money to help cover some of the medical expenses, the expense of traveling between Holland and Grand Rapids and to help with any expenses that Sara's income does not cover. Dan and Sara also have 2 daughters who are 13 and 14 and three cats living at home.

I will be using this page to share updates with all our friends, family and those of you in the disc golf community. Our family truly appreciates everyone who has already given of their time and financial assistance. Please keep Dan, myself (Sara), and our girls in your thoughts and prayers (we have seen small gains over the past couple of weeks and faith that he is strong and will continue to make improvements.
