Hi, my name is Chelsea Kirby. My sister -n- law Ciera Kirby found out a couple of weeks ago she had cancer - Nevoid-Basal-Cell-Carcinoma-Syndrome. Last week she had surgery to remove that cancer from a spot on her leg, which was done successfully. During the removal, they biopsied her lymph nodes near her groin, and the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. She will have a PET scan on Friday to see if it has spread anywhere else. She will also be having a port put in. This is not for chemo as chemo and radiation do not help this type of cancer she has. They will use a different kind of medication to treat this cancer. Hopefully, this works! We have Hope and Faith! As this is just the beginning of her journey. They will travel back and forth to her doctors in Stillwater for tests, scans and surgeries! ANY contribution is greatly appreciated during this "C" journey! Not only does this affect Ciera, but it also affects her husband, and their two kids face this together!
