Baileys dental surgery

Hi I’m Bailey! I am a newly adopted rehabilitated 4 year old pitbull mix living in Almonte, ON.

I was rescued by Malasia (Tuckered Out Training) in February 2023, and was posted for adoption in May 2023. Somehow, even though I’m the most loving, cuddly, sassiest little pitty, the right family never came along for me. In October 2024 Malasia found me a foster placement with Kate, and she immediately fell in love with me, adopting me in February 2025.

In March of 2025, just days too early for insurance coverage, I got very sick and was brought to the vet. I was diagnosed with Chronic Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis (CUPS), essentially meaning I am allergic to my own plaque. This causes me a lot of pain, lesions/ulcers and inflammation in my mouth.

On March 26th, 2025 Bailey had surgery with the incredible specialists at @capcityvet. Origionally, the plan was to remove all of baileys teeth, but the doctors thought that since we acted so quickly, Bailey was a good candidate for medicinal treatment. So, that day they removed 7 teeth, cleaned out her gums, removed what was diseased and I got to take her home that night. It was a rough first few days but she was so brave. Bailey now has to be on two medications for the rest of her life to manage this disease in hopes that she does not need any further surgery.

The total cost of surgery was: $5,456.89

As you can imagine, after setting everything up for insurance to ensure I could afford to adopt her, these costs are financially devastating. Here’s a monthly break down of the costs associated to her illness:
Surgery Bill- $282.00 (for 18 months)
Medications- $300.00
= $582.00 month

With Baileys $400.00+ per month diet, her pet insurance and regular vetting, I simply cannot afford to make the monthly payments of her surgery and medications.

If you have anything to donate towards Bailey and I to help her live a long healthy life on medication and help with the payment of her surgery, we would be forever grateful.

Thank you for following her journey, she is the most special girl and I want to be able to give her the care she needs to live a long and healthy life.
