Help With Baby Adam's Living Expenses

Rhanya Cox has been missing since October 2021 and resurfaced for a few days at Phoenix Valleywise hospital last month; in mid-November 2022. We received a call from the hospital that she was admitted at midnight and was in labor. She gave birth to a pre-mature, beautiful, baby boy; Adam.

When we visited with her at the hospital, Rhanya looked so sick and weak, and had asked us to come home after she gave birth. So, we went shopping to buy her things to help with her transition and take her back home. The day we went to bring her home from the hospital, the man she was with (we have no idea who he is other than his name) either convinced or forced her to leave the hospital without getting discharged. We felt very sad and concerned that she was taken away from us knowing that she still needed medical help and wanted to desperately come back home.

Rhanya is still missing, and a Missing Person's report has been filed with Phoenix PD. They are actively looking for her as she is in danger and needs Help. In the meantime, baby Adam has been living with us since the day he was discharged from Valleywise Hospital NICU.

We love baby Adam and are blessed to have him in our care as we wait for his mom, Rhanya, to come back to us safely. But we do need help with his expenses as the cost of diapers and other items is so high these days. Adam was pre-mature and Rhanya never received any prenatal care. We do not know what medical issues may arise from Adam having been exposed to drugs that his mom was using while she was pregnant. We have already seen the evidence of that exposure on him as he would have episodes of tremors and shaking and is very fussy when we change his diapers or undress him. His hearing may also be affected as he didn’t pass his initial hearing test at the hospital. We have him scheduled with the Banner Children’s Hospital for a second hearing test later this month. There are other concerns that could arise at the cognitive and behavioral levels that we don’t even know of yet.

We are desperately in need for monetary assistance to continue to care for baby Adam as we have another child living with us to care for along with three (3) boys to pay child support for. We are currently working with Department of Child Services to gain full legal guardianship and as we go through the process of paperwork and hearings, we are still taking care of baby Adam. Arizona state does offer some assistance for Kinship Foster but it doesn’t cover all the expenses and we have yet to see any of it.

We are asking for any donation that you can give us. You all know the prices at the grocery stores, clothing stores, health care, and transportation all due to inflation these days. We are humbly asking that you pay it forward even if it’s a dollar or two.
