Hi my names Michelle and my husband Al has stage 2 brain cancer. Let me start off by saying I'm not one to ask for help as this in general feels incredibly weird for me, but unfortunately als bills medical bills are piling up and we have exhausted all of our savings and barely have enough money to pay our regular bills. Not paying the bills at all and letting it go to collections is also not an option as al will need to see the neurologist for the rest of his life. Any help is greatly appreciated.

More information about al:

Al is my 34 year old husband and a father to our 10 year old son. On January 21 2023 al had multiple seizures and was rushed to the er at the good Samaritan where a brain tumor was found in his left frontal lobe. Al had brain surgery on Jan 25 where 87% of the tumor was removed (during this time he suffered aphasia which caused him to lose his ability to form sentences and say basic words), he also lost the ability to use his right hand and lost function in his right arm. Al also suffered with short term memory loss and issues regulating his emotions (he is now quick to anger and get very emotional over small things), he also suffers with severe anxiety which was never a issue before. For two months al went through speech and occupational therapy, he thankfully regained some strength back in his hand and arm and is able to do some basic things. He has also regained the ability to use his voice but sometimes flips his words or names basic things incorrectly. In February we (our family) learned al had stage 2 astrocytoma brain cancer and would need 6 weeks of radiation and 1 year of chemotherapy. We also learned that there is no cure and there's a chance that even after doing all of these things that tumor could regrow again and al will need to have brain surgery again in the future but we are staying hopeful that the tumor will go back to "sleep."

On March 28 al started oral chemotherapy and radiation and side effects start quickly. Al has trouble doing daily activities at home due to chemo and radiation exhaustion (for people who don't know what this means, it means that even doing basic things makes al super tired after 30 to 45 mins). Due to this issue and als cognitive disabilities from the surgery al will not be able to return to work until march 2024 but we are hopeful he can return sooner.

On April 4th al was admitted again due to swelling on his left frontal lobe and unfortunately at this time his drs are stumped as to why this is occurring.
