Wishes for Wes

On April 23, 2015 Wes Williams fell backwards down a total of 12 stairs and then hit the concrete wall with his head. Unable to move, he laid there for almost two and a half hours until he was found by his wife, Pat Williams.  911 was called immediately and Wes was life flighted to OSF hospital in Rockford, Illinois. He was put on a ventilator and was put in the intensive care unit. X-rays showed that Wes protruded C3 and C4 of his vertebrae. Therefore, he was scheduled for surgery to have a rod placed in his neck. Wes began to make small improvements after the surgery but had to wear a neck brace for a total of eight weeks. A few days after the surgery the ventilator was removed. Shortly after this Wes was discharged from the hospital and sent to a rehabilitation facility in Winfield, Illinois.  A few days after being admitted to the rehab facility Wes was found unresponsive and rushed to Central DuPage Hospital by ambulance. Upon his arrival he was placed back on a ventilator. After the complications resided Wes was taken off the ventilator and then taken to a rehab facility in Rockford, Illinois. After working with physical therapy and occupational therapy for a month Wes was finally able to return home on June 22, 2015. As a result of the initial accident, Wes was diagnosed as quadriplegic, meaning he is paralyzed from the neck down. Wes, his wife Pat, his children Rachel, Jennifer, Kim, Eric, and Julie are turning to their friends and family during this time of need. We ask that you please donate money due to the overwhelming medical expenses, long-term nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical prescriptions, and for the hopes of purchasing a wheelchair accessible van in the near future. Growing up none of the children ever thought they would see their father like this, especially at the age of 56. Wes and Pat were always supportive, hard-working, and committed parents. They always went above and beyond to make each child happy. Our parents have done so much for us throughout our lives, and now it is our turn. We ask that you please help our parents out during this time of need. All donations can be made through www.gofundme.com/wishesforwes Every donation is greatly appreciated by Wes and his family! Thank you!
