Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project Website 2.0

Donation protected
After three decades, the History Project website has been redesigned and relaunched!

Built and managed by award-winning project founder Don Schwamb, our website offers over 100 years of local LGBTQ history. Our new website experience allows our heritage to be seen by anyone, anywhere, at any time, on any device.

We're VERY close to meeting our Phase I funding goals -- and we need your help to close the gap!

What is preserving our history and heritage worth to you? At a time when LGBTQ history is being censored, silenced, and excluded -- even here in southeastern Wisconsin -- your donation is especially meaningful. Please consider making a gift to the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project so we can extend our reach even further.

About the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project

Since 1994, the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project has been documenting, preserving and celebrating the heritage of local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. Today, we are the state's largest digital repository of LGBTQ media.

We are an independent, self-funded, volunteer-operated, not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to reconnect Wisconsin with its lost heritage and hidden history, through ongoing research, presentations, podcasts, publications, walking tours, media advice, and community outreach. We offer all of these services at no cost to the community.
