Please read the various updates on the complications Winston encountered after his first and second surgery. Sleep peacefully my sweet boy.
Hi, my name is Angela. Our sweet Winston, 7 year Wire Fox Terrier (best boy ever!), underwent emergency exploratory surgery at 1am on 04/22/23 for an unknown foreign body obstruction. Winston was declining fast but, pulled through surgery with the obstruction found (grass… yes, grass), they removed 3 plus inches of intestines and another section tore by the sphincter which could not be removed and was sewn shut. Winston began to show signs of hiding pain, throwing up, and being bloated at approx. 7:45pm Friday. We immediately rushed him to the closest emergency vet and Winston has been at the ICU since. Unfortunately for little man, this is his second obstruction surgery (first was 4.5 years ago for 2 Queen palm fruit), he has a much tougher recovery and will be at the animal hospital a bit longer.
The expenses are adding up very quickly and not stopping as new meds have been added and continued imaging is need on the section of intestine that could not be removed. We are not ones to ever ask for help. However, due to other family emergencies, we are in a bind.
Thank you for your time reading. Please send pawstive vibes for his continued healing.
Thank you,
Winston, Carlos, Angela, Thatcher (Airedale sister), and Neville (Airedale sister)
Our normal happy boy with his sisters:
