WiP Wolf Run 2019!

Donation protected
We are a pack of 17 women running the Winter Wolf Run  on Sunday 3rd November to raise money for two causes close to our heart:

1) The mental health charity MIND  and 2) The Women in Power Bursary Fund

MIND is a charity whose mission statement is 'to not give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect'. They provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem and campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Women in Power CIC is a not-for-profit organisation delivering an initiation experience for women that gets to the heart and the roots of what it takes to be a strong, effective woman living a full life within the wider world. The Bursary Group was created to offer grants to women who need financial support to help cover the cost of attending. We encourage and facilitate fundraising within our community and to allocate the funds raised prudently and with great care to support women who apply.

We raise money annually for the WiP Bursary Fund - but this year is  different – we are running and fundraising in honour of our sister and friend, Jayne Blackman, who died by suicide July 24th 2018 after a long experience with severe depression. Jayne was very much part of our community, and so much part of the last wolf run, raising a large proportion of that years funds single handedly.

This year we want to double our fundraising so that we can give to two organisations. Your money will go directly into the WiP Bursary account, and at the end of the campaign we will gift 50% of everything raised to MIND in memory of Jayne, whose chosen charity it was.

We feel it is critical in these times to support a charity that is supporting many people on the ground with their mental health and who don’t have access to self development work such as Women in Power. We want to be able to support the bigger picture, as well as continue to raise money for women to afford to come to WiP and access the life-changing work that it offers. As our community grows, so does the need for bursaries - this year we are giving away about £4000 in bursaries and that money is solely raised by the generosity of women within our community. This year we are making this more public.

Taking on the Winter Wolf Run 10k Mud Run  is no small feat. Each women running is doing so for their own personal reasons as well as for our collective goal. We range in age from each decade - from our 20's to our 60's - from different walks of life and representing the power of communal actions. We shall achieve our goal together, for both the challenge and the joy of it.  We will be sharing many stories from each of us running as our fundraising campaign continues, so please follow our journey and click to receive updates.

The women taking part are:

Agnes Ashbell, Catarina Corujus, Clare Davis, Connie Owen, Eve Goodman, Geno Melling, Geri May, Hannah McWillams, Jodi Dublon, Justine Bornstein, Kate John, Karen Ferberman, Liz Remande-Guyard, Lizzie Rothschild, Sophie Hunter and Su Hall.

Please give what you can. For each donation, big or small, we thank you so much for helping us achieve our goal and giving back financially to organisations creating positive change in the world - do drop us a message in the comment section and help cheer the team on!
