The Big Step Up: England U18s
Hi everyone, I’m Ayaan Syed. I have some incredible news to share: I have officially been selected to represent the England U18 National Team!
After a fantastic journey with the U17s, moving up to the U18 squad is awesome! As a Setter—the "quarterback" of the team—the pressure is higher and the game is faster. I’ve been training harder than ever at Boswells VC to be ready for this moment. This will be building on my previous 3 Caps back in October 25 in Denmark. I couldn't be more excited to wear the England jersey again on the World stage!
The Goal: The Volleyball Winter World Cup 2026 in Pordenone, Italy
This 3-day tournament is a massive opportunity to showcase my skills against the best in the world as I work toward my long-term goal of securing a volleyball scholarship in the USA.
The Challenge: A 15km Sponsored Walk
To get to Italy, I need to raise £875 to cover flights, accommodation.
To earn your support, my mum (Saima) and I are taking on a challenge. On Saturday, February 14th, we will be completing a sponsored 15km walk. We believe in working hard for every opportunity, and this walk is our way of showing how dedicated we are to this journey.
Where Your Donations Go
Every penny raised goes directly to the costs of the 3-day tournament:
Travel: Flights to and from Italy.
Stay: Team accommodation for the duration of the Cup.
Giving Back: Any funds raised over the £875 target will be donated to charity.
A Note From My Parents
"Watching Ayaan’s growth from our back garden sessions during lockdown to the England U18 squad has been a joy. We are so proud of his work ethic and focus. Doing this 15km walk is our way of showing Ayaan that his community is behind him as he takes this massive step up. Thank you for your support." — Ayman & Saima
