Winter With No Car? Emergency.

Donation protected
As requested, my Venmo is issitohbi and I've started a PayPal Pool as an alternative! Friends & family are also welcome to mail checks. Whatever works best for you will be perfectly fine for me, I just appreciate the help!

October Update: We got a letter from the city about the unmoving vehicles needing repairs, which we've been deliberating about which to scrap or fix. That decision was made for us when we were told that using car covers was an admission of guilt. I cried for pretty much the whole day trying to clean up the Aries because I wanted to not only get it running, but fully restore it. That's me & Keenan in the picture attached, as it was being towed away.

We are truly down to nothing now.
Our driveway is empty.
There is no longer the option of throwing down $500 to fix it for a few months.
We need a car.
Please donate, please share.

In September I wrote the following: "Earlier this year I needed to have an engine replacement for my van, Big Red, or scrap her and get a new vehicle altogether. We only ended up raising $208 which meant no way to replace the engine so I called scrap, but we only got another $100 for Big Red. As I said then, living in a rural area without a vehicle is outright stressful.

We have no way to doctors appointments or better employment options, and because we have to walk to the store we're paying higher prices and sacrificing things we need. Because of the health issues I have, this is a problem and the need for transportation is even more urgent with winter on the way. I've already dropped out of school because I have no way to get to classes or orientations/counselor appointments to do online. Britt relies on co-workers to carpool and Lyft, while K rides my bike to work and back - which is becoming increasingly dangerous with unpredictable weather and lack of bike lanes/sidewalk. Having a car would remedy these issues for all of us.

I've set a goal of $10,000 because the best option would be a large downpayment on a used vehicle from a lot. However, I realize that's a lot, so if we can raise a guaranteed $5,000 we might be able to buy from someone local selling a vehicle personally or put that money into the Aries. I'm hopeful that my relatives on Native Twitter, and my teammates from Twitter Philanthropy will help me in this time of need with a RT or a donation (especially if you have a verified account since that will see a wider audience!) Everything helps."

My stress level, with absolutely nothing to fall back on, is extremely high surrounding this now. It's pouring rain and the realization that winter will be here sooner rather than later is weighing heavily on me. Share this with everyone you know as posts, personal messages, emails. Just please help me get the word out and donate if you can.
