Winter Shoes for Children in Kabul, Afghanistan

On January 5th, 2019, residents of war-torn Kabul, Afghanistan were overjoyed for the first winter snowfall after long-lasting droughts. This however was not a moment of celebration for many families. Winter is the most difficult time of the year for countless Afghans as they live in mud-brick houses covered with plastic sheets as roof with no proper winter clothing. I am aiming to raise enough funds within a week to provide winter shoes for children surviving the harsh winter in Kabul.

Please help me raise 1,600 Canadian Dollars that will help provide winter shoes for about 150 orphans.
How much can you donate?
This page allows for a minimum of $5 donation. Please don’t hesitate to donate the minimum or $10 for a shoes as every contribution will help achieve our goal and will encourage others to contribute as well. You can pay by DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD.
Who will help purchase and distribute the winter shoes?
I will wire the funds to Qahir who currently lives in Kabul, Afghanistan. He will purchase the shoes from a local wholesaler and will distribute the shoes with the help of his colleagues who have agreed to help with this campaign.
Breakdown of the amount to be raised:
- $1,500 for 150 shoes ($10 per shoe)
*$10 CAD is equivalent to around 567 Afghani, sufficient for a good pair of winter shoes for kids.
- $100 (GoFundMe funds transfer fee and Wire fee)
How to track the shoes distribution:
I will post updates with videos and photos of the shoes distribution to the children on this page and on my Facebook page.
