Hello, everyone again!
With extreme cold weather warnings in place, a record number of individuals are experiencing homelessness due to the loss of jobs/instability in the workplace and an overflowing shelter system.
I am partnering with Al Muselimah to distribute 100 care packages in Calgary's core, including items worth about 60$ per package, and distribute them on Dec 3rd, 2022. To reach our goal, we need your help and would love it if you could spread the word, share this page on social media, or donate any amount!
The kits will contain the following items:
- Winter Essentials (2 pairs of socks, hat, gloves, hand warmers)
- Bacteria Essentials (hand sanitizer, wipes)
- Personal Hygiene Essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, floss, comb)
- Female Sanitary Products (pads & tampons)
- $20 Food Gift Card (Tim Horton's, Subway, McDonald's)
- Mini First Aid Kit
- Snack Items (e.g., Protein bars, Juice)
- Sandwiches
- Water
- Personal Care Items: (E.g., Lip balm, Body Lotion, Soap, Shampoo)
(Warm Blankets & Jackets if people have any extra at home or we collect enough to purchase)
DM Al-Muselimah or Abdullah to sign up to volunteer and give out the care packages with us! or to drop off your warm blankets and winter jackets to be donated.
