Hi everyone, my name is Jessica and this is my best friend, Winston. He’s a 3-year-old Old English Bulldog — a professional couch potato and certified beach bum who loves people more than anything.

I adopted Winston from Woods Humane Society when he was just 6 months old. From day one, I knew he was special — but he came with some behavioral challenges that took time, patience, and love to work through. I’ve spent many hours and resources helping him overcome those issues through training and consistency, and watching him grow into the sweet, gentle, happy dog he is today has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

A few weeks ago, Winston started limping. At first, I hoped it was just a minor strain, but when it didn’t get better, I took him to the vet. After multiple visits and tests, I found out that he tore his meniscus and will need surgery to walk normally again.

So far, I’ve spent about $880 on vet visits, labs, medication, and a surgical consultation. The surgery itself is estimated to cost $5,700 — and that’s before follow-up care. I’m doing everything I can, but it’s a heavy expense on my own.

Winston is still so young and full of life. It breaks my heart to see him struggle to walk or not be his goofy, happy self. I just want to give him the chance to run and play at the beach again, pain-free.
