My name is Jennifer. Recently, we had to rush our dog, Winston, to the vet with lethargy. We found out he was in diabetic ketoacidosis. We had no idea he was diabetic. On top of this, he had pancreatitis and a UTI. The vet recommended an immediate transport to an Emergency Animal Clinic about 20 minutes from our home. When we arrived, he was assessed and they determined the same.
Treatment once they reach this stage requires around-the-clock care for days, lots of blood sugar checks and monitoring, as well as injections for his pancreas. He has now been in the hospital for 3 days.
We were quoted an estimate of $5900 on top of the $840.00 bill we received from his regular vet.
Winston is the sweetest boy. He loves everyone he meets and loves to cuddle. He’s a nosy neighbor who loves to perch on the chair and watch everyone walk by. We are so anxious to get him home with us again. He’s a big part of our family as my husband and I do not have children.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. It’s not easy to ask for anything. I’m so used to being the fixer and wanting to help others.
