First and foremost,
If you made it to this page I want to thank you; deeply and genuinely with my whole heart as this means so much to me.

If you know me; you know that I am always one to help but never one to ask for it. Due to the below circumstances I have truly been left no other options.

I got Winslow in October of 2015. He was a good looking bull dog; but I had a gut feeling something just felt off. However, being the lover of red flags, I drove 4 hours towards Southern California to a city in the middle of nowhere; he ran towards me with his big ol' paws and all his rolls and when I saw that he was the last one picked it kind of resonated with my child hood and that was that. (as I was bullied a lot as a kid and thus picked last for a lot of things)

It didn't take too long before I realized that Winslow had something really wrong with him because on the car ride home he was showing his signs of incontinence.

I took him to a Petfood Petvet to have him evaluated. The doctor there referred me to another doctor about 75 miles from where I lived. She said there was no such thing as a specialist for specific breeds but Dr. Barney was as close as it came to being a specialist with bull dogs as people from all over California traveled to see him.

So, I scheduled the appointment for Barney and Russum and It was at this appointment that he was diagnosed with Spina Bifida and the start of a really wild roller coaster began and I had no idea what I was truly getting myself into.

As he grew, so did the messes and the amount of waste coming from his body. The search for a diaper was way more difficult than anyone could understand, but vital in my ability to be able to keep him because at the time I lived in a loft and didn't have the luxury of having a yard or a garage. Everyday for 6 months - I came home not knowing if the diaper was going to be on or off and if I was going to have to spend hours cleaning up.

At Winslows 9th month he developed a condition called Entropion, a genetic condition in which a portion of the eyelid is inverted and causes the eye lashes to scratch the surface of the eye, leading to corneal ulceration and/or perforation. I took him back to Dr. Barney where they performed a surgery to correct that and also remove his nose roll.

Around his 10th month of life (by now I developed a pretty big attachment to him) I came home from work and he there was so much bleeding and tissue coming from his penis. Due to Winslows condition he was pre disposed to reoccurring UTI's because he doesn't have the ability to empty his bladder completely. I panicked and took him to the VCA Emergency Hospital where they said he needed an emergency surgery; a penis amputation. His penis was literally rotten on the inside. Winslow had such a bad infection (and I had very little knowledge at the time) and he show almost no signs excepting being lerthargic and I thought was was normal behavior for the breed.  I had about 24 hours to come up with a very large amount of money and luckily any ex father in law had lent me about 80% of the money because he had just lost his dog and understood that pain and I used my entire savings on the rest.

After the penis amputation with his newly formed make shift pee hole about 3 inches away from his never ending poop hole it made it even easier for bacteria to contaminate the area and cause more reoccurring UTI's - meaning reoccurring antibiotics, meaning building up a resistance to those antibiotics.

This last visit they told me to go to UC Davis immediately that they have the staff and the ability to help him. We are at the point where oral antibiotics don't work anymore and I have to give him injections under the skin every 12 hours.

Winslow is in need of another surgery to remove bacteria crusts from his bladder wall to end the reoccurring infections.

I know a lot of you may be thinking "just put him out of his misery" "why is she putting him thru all of this"  but if you know Winslow - he has a will to live. Despite his condition, despite everything he has gone thru - he's so happy, so loving and so full of life, he doesn't let anything get him down.

Winslow has saved me from some of the darkest moment of my life. When I lost my grandparents, when I got a divorce. During times of loneliness, confusion and I only had him to cry to, to love on, to feel loved - because during all those times I didn't even love myself. He's saved me from some of my own demons and its only right that I do everything I can to save him. He's my best friend.

If you have the pleasure of meeting him - he is a total ham. He loves to play, hug, he'll make you laugh, he'll also make you cry.

His next surgery is going to be between 3500 - 5000 at UC DAVIS Small Animal Clinic. I don't have the money at this point in my life and the antibiotics I have been injecting him with are only going to last so long before I have no choice but to do the surgery or put him down.

I want to take the next 30 days to try my hardest to get the money for his surgery and if I don't make it to at least 3,000 to be able to put for the down payment I want to use the money to continue purchasing the antibiotics until I have absolutely no choice but to put him down.

There is a lot of expenses involved in having a handicapped dog from medicated food, to diapers ( a lot of flipping diapers), multiple doctors visits per year, surgeries, medicated shampoos, medicated creams for his diaper area. I am really struggling at this point and I need a village.

I already am working 3 jobs but I can't make the money fast enough there are only so many hours in a day and when I'm not working all my time is dedicated to him.

Please help me help my baby. I know that finacial hardships effect all of us in the bay area - even if you cant donate please share or help me get the word out. Tag Ellen! I wrote to her too and Im hoping it can catch a little wind in time enough to help.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, if any of you want additional documentation I would be happy to provide it. If you don't feel comfortable helping in terms of money on GoFundMe you can write a check directly to UC Davis that I can take with me on his surgery day or if you want to donate diapers he wears the Mens Walgreens brand S/M diapers.

Please help me save my best friend, we're both not ready for his life to end just because of money. Every little bit helps. Become apart of Winslow's journey, follow him on IG @winslowraymond or follow me @chardonnayshawty_
