My beloved girl Winona has a heart so full and spirit too big for her own good—if you know her you love her (and she loves you)! Last week, her curiosity got the best of her when she ingested something she shouldn’t have that resulted in persistent vomiting, lethargy and finally a visit to the emergency vet. After several blood tests and x-rays, it was confirmed that she had an intestinal blockage that would require an emergency laparotomy and foreign object removal from her stomach. It goes without saying that this experience has been deeply stressful for the both of us and though there is still a ways to go in the recovery process, I feel so very grateful to have my baby back home with me, but the emotional and financial toll this has taken is too much to carry alone at this time. The total cost of all consultations, tests and procedures amounted to $4000. I am seeking support in covering the cost of the surgery itself which was $2650 and the rest will be paid out of pocket, over time.
