Winning for Winsome

Hi everyone, Marlenê here, I am fundraising for my sister and best friend, Winsome Sinclair. Back in 2021 Winsome was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. At the time she was living in Atlanta, Georgia and decided to move back to her home town in Long Island, New York after her initial surgery on Dec 6th, 2021. Over the last two years Winsome has had a tough battle with cancer and has limited mobility. Her outings primarily consist of going to the doctor for treatments and taking care of her two beautiful boys.

Recently, Winsome had to undergo radiation for tumors that were found and needed to be treated by localized radiation. Whereas, the treatment has been effective, on August 25th, she was informed that previous cancer cells, initially smaller in size, has grown slightly bigger. This has caused her Doctors to be concerned enough to create a more aggressive chemo treatment which starts on September 1, 2023.

This chemo cocktail prescribed by her oncologist and team of Doctors is extremely toxic to the body. In order for Winsome's body to stay strong enough to endure this round of chemo it is imperative that she cleanse and detox her system vigorously between treatments.

I introduced her to Marcia, an herbalist that specializes in the combination of both eastern and western medicine, a pharmacist for over 30 years and 20 plus years of nursing experience in the field of oncology.

The new plan of action is for Winsome to undergo a full body scan which includes a full day of testing. This is time sensitive and needs to happen within the next few weeks.

Biomarker testing is a way to look for genes, proteins, and other substances (called biomarkers or tumor markers) that can provide information about cancer. Each person’s cancer has a unique pattern of biomarkers. Some biomarkers affect how certain cancer treatments work. Biomarker testing will help Winsome and her Doctors create a more effective plan for treatment. Winsome's health insurance does cover most of her treatments however for this particular testing, most, if not all insurance companies will not cover the costs. This is where are asking for your help. Any size donation will be greatly appreciated and used only for Winsome's testing and continued holistic healing program.
