In November of 2021, after the most difficult period of my life, I adopted my friend Winnie, who quickly became the light of my life. Recently, our sweet girl suffered a completely unexpected herniated disc in the back of her spine, leading to a medical condition extremely common in her breed known as Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). This has put her in tremendous pain.

After a few weeks of uncertainty in regard to the severity of her condition and moments where it appeared that she would recover just with pain medication and rest, Winnie lost the ability to use her hind legs. I had to rush her to the emergency room, and she was then immediately referred to a neurologist that same day, and within hours, Winnie has undergone urgent surgery to alleviate the pressure on her spinal cord and restore her mobility. This is Winnie's best chance at regaining her playful, energetic spirit and enjoying a pain-free life again.

Unfortunately, the upfront costs for the surgery are a staggering $11,000. This doesn't include physical therapy, follow-up visits, accommodations to the home, or other associated costs that will be necessary for her recovery. There was never a question that we would do whatever possible to help Winnie, but we are struggling to cover these expenses on our own.

That's why we are humbly asking for your help. Any donation, big or small, will go directly towards covering the costs of Winnie's surgery, her post-operative care, and her physical therapy sessions. Your generous support will not only give her the opportunity to walk again but also help her regain her quality of life.
