Winnie’s journey

We write this with heavy hearts that my friend’s beautiful daughter Winnie Louise passed away with her family surrounded by her on 31.01.25 2 days after she was born.

James has been unable to work due to circumstances of us visiting the hospital on a weekly basis and hasn’t worked since the start of December. Lauren has also been unable to work since the start of her pregnancy with attending the hospital on a weekly basis and not being able to claim any maternity grants.

After having such a difficult journey with Lauren having 3 previous miscarriages, and a molar pregnancy which caused a cancer scare. James and Lauren have longed for this day for many years and unfortunately still had the devastating news that their baby wasn’t coming home with them, every parents worst nightmare. Winnie couldn’t fight the battles that life thrown at her just hours old. Winnie was very poorly and NICU at QMC tried everything to make things different for them but they still have to suffer with the grief of losing their baby girl that nobody deserves to go through. Instead of coming home and being in the baby bubble they are instead having to arrange Winnies funeral. Not only having to face that , they have had to explain to Winnie’s big sister Lillie that her little sister is never coming home.

As you can all imagine they are absolutely heartbroken and was never wanting to plan a funeral for their baby but to plan a future for her.

The last few years has been horrendous for this family so giving them the break they all deserve would be incredible.

We understand that some of the funeral costs will be covered by the funeral directors, however they are wanting to give this little girl an extra special send off that she deserves by raising as much money as we can. As well as give Lillie Some special treats and a break she deserves in loving memory from her sister from all the heartache and trauma she has come across these last few years and this last week.

Any contribution would be a massive help and we appreciate every single one of you that will help towards all of this for the beautiful family.

With a heavy heart Myself & James would like to announce our baby girls funeral

Starting from Hibbitt Close, Leabrooks DE55 1NF for 9am following her to….

The Funeral service will be held at:

10am on Friday 11th April 2025 @ Amber Valley Memorial Park and Crematorium, DE55 1BH followed by her burial @ Leabrooks Cemetery at 11:15am.

We then invite you all to join us as we remember, celebrate, and honor her life at the Alfreton Golf Club, Wingfield Road, DE55 7LH and ask for your continued prayers for her eternal peace.

We sincerely appreciate your love and support. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers during this time of grief

All we ask is that it is colourful and whatever you feel most comfortable in
