Hi Everyone

As you all know our friend Winnie (Daniel) is housed in an assisted living facility made for old people due to his terrible health.

He is now in a wheelchair most of the time as he cannot hold himself up on his crutches and his walking is rapidly deteriorating due to myotonic dystrophy. He is also almost completely deaf now, his eyesight is failing, he has a pacemaker, he has Menieres disease which causes him to lose balance and fall, and he is bald.

He recently sent me a video of him and his carer teaching him how to get in and out of his wheelchair and it's absolutely heartbreaking to see.

Thanks to your incredible generosity in the past, we were able to raise the money to buy him some furniture for his flat and a scooter which gives him the vital independence he needs to go out to the shops or to his many doctors visits.

Yet for all his problems, he never, ever complains.

February 22nd Winnie is turning 50 and to celebrate this, me and Jonathan Ryz want to take him away for the holiday of a lifetime. He hasn't been away for many years and nobody knows how much longer he is going to be able to go anywhere.

He spends most of his days sitting alone in his flat or in the hospital or going to the doctors office.

Winnie has said that he would like to go on a cruise and we have found cruises with handicapped accessible cabins and ramps and swimming pool lifts which will allow him to use an electric wheelchair to get him around the ship and to enjoy the amenities of the cruise.

It will take both me and Jonathan to transport him to the cruise and carry him around and help him get up and ready in the morning and take him from place to place but it is something that we would be honored to do for him. It's the least he deserves. 

We are trying to raise enough money to pay for his flights, accommodations, a carer, travel insurance and to rent an electric wheelchair. The carer will help winnie with things like showering and bathroom visits. 

This trip will likely be Winnies last holiday he is ever able to go on, so we want to make it really special for him.

I'm asking you all one more time to please help make this dream come true and give Winnie a bit of happiness.
