Winnie Needs Your Love and Support Right Now

Hi everyone...

The beautiful Queen of dogs, and the much beloved Winnie, needs love and support right now after taking a completely shocking and unexpected turn for the worst last night. What began as a vomiting and diarrhea ended in a very scary drive to the Emergency Vet, with her hemorrhaging blood from both her bum and mouth. We have absolutely no idea what caused this. When I arrived at the vet, I was covered in blood and they took her immediately. They aren’t able to determine the cause, but the plan of care is to treat her symptomatically. Which means 3-4 days in the ICU at the emergency vet, hydration, stop her vomiting, and give her pain meds, and determine next steps which likely will have to include a plasma transfusion amongst other tests.

She is a strong, healthy dignified soul and she’s handling at best she can. We are committed to doing everything we can to help her and make sure she gets through these next few days and comes home as soon as she can and as well as she can. The thought of anything happening to my little Winnie, is beyond anything that I think I can handle. I know that so many of you who know Winnie, know how special she is.

The cost is estimated to be in the ballpark of $8000.
