Winner’s Warriors- Support for Ava Mae

Ava Mae Winner is the nine-year-old daughter of my sister Melissa Winner and her husband Dan Winner. On Wednesday January 9, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and within 48 hours underwent a 10-hour surgery to remove the tumor. Doctors were able to remove most of the tumor. Additional treatment will be necessary, but the specific course of that has  yet to be determined. Ava’s road to recovery will be long, but her spunk and determination have been evident each step of the way thus far. She is a treasured member of a tight family unit. Her three older brothers will be traveling to and from Akron frequently with their aunt and uncle to be part of Ava’s healing team. Ava’s parents will need to take an as-of-yet undetermined-amount of leave from work to take care of her and nurse her back from this delicate situation. They are blessed to be employed and have insurance. However travel, time off of work, and unforeseen expenses are bound to add up. We would like to remove some of their stress by easing the financial burden of those extra expenses. Any amount of support is a blessing.  And honestly, the most important gift is your emotional support and prayers.
