Winifred Jane Woods was born 11/15/22 weighing 9lbs with a head full of dark hair. Just 6 hours after her birth, Winnie had to be taken to the NICU for further observation. It wasn’t long before sweet Winnie was transferred to Michigan Children’s Hospital as doctors realized she would be better cared for there. After many tests, it was determined that Winnie has a brain abnormality called Polymicrogyria. Simply put, this is how her brain was formed and is not related to any damage from seizures, or anything that could have been prevented in utero. We won’t fully know how this will affect her long-term until she begins to grow and develop, but currently the greatest way it is affecting her is by causing many continued seizures. Some of the seizures have been very long and others have caused her to stop breathing. Winnie has been placed on a breathing tube in order to prevent any damage that could be done by not breathing during seizures. Currently the doctors are trying to regulate her seizure medication so that they might stop the seizures, but have so far not been successful.

Please pray for their continued faith in Jesus, that they would hold fast to him knowing that he has ordained every single one of Winnie‘s days for his glory.
