Fund New Theater Work: WINGS WATERMELON by Mo Holmes

WINGS // WATERMELON is an original play with music, presented in a hybrid format that weaves together a reading with fully staged scenes, brought to life by a dedicated ensemble of artists. This show is the thesis work of playwright Mo Holmes at Columbia University, and your support means the world to us. This fundraiser exists because great work deserves fair compensation. Every dollar raised goes directly toward paying our creative collaborators for two weeks of intensive rehearsal and production.

Theater is collaborative work, and that work deserves to be paid. We're raising $5,000 to compensate our artists for two weeks of creative labor. Every dollar contributed goes directly to the people making this show happen.

If you believe in new work, in supporting artists, and in the power of live theater, we'd be so grateful for your contribution at any level. Share this page with anyone you think might care. Thank you for helping us get WINGS // WATERMELON off the ground.

ABOUT THE SHOW
WINGS // WATERMELON -- In January 1939, over 1,500 sharecroppers and tenant farmers, including children and the elderly, lived for four days on the side of the Missouri highway, in response to the failings of the New Deal. The play explores this historical protest as both displacement and dis/play of community.
