Wings for Desi Tuey: Help In A Time of Tragic Loss
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Laci Tuey, and my beloved father is Desmond (Desi) Tuey. My dad always had a smile on his face and would constantly lighten the days of others. He had two babies, two pups named Kali and Leroy.
Kali lives on to potentially become a therapy dog for Children's Hospital, where my dad worked for as long as I can remember, in Arkansas and Arizona. Leroy will be a potential service dog in training, if not a therapy dog.
Dad was passionate about where he worked and the wonderful things the hospital did for the kiddos, his dogs, marathons, motorcycles, programming, music, and dancing, among many other things.
He had a great sense of humor and could always find a way to make you laugh.
My dad took his life on 5/31/25, battling a struggle many cannot see, and that is with mental health tied into the things we all face with daily living. I would give anything to see his smile again. Men's mental health is a topic dear to my soul, as well as mental health struggles as a whole. I don't know if my father knew how heavily he would be missed, but he is dearly missed.
As his sole living child, I am working alongside my mother to arrange everything both for my dad and for myself as the next of kin. I am hoping to garner funds for my dad's probate expenses, debts due until probate finishes, and the costs and arrangement of travel from TX to Arizona to bring him back to Arkansas and to pack his belongings.
I'd also like to eventually give back to those who have helped in this time, those who were dear friends to my dad and considered family.
I am chronically ill & disabled. The struggle comes in the form of grief and, sadly, finances. I cannot work or get under Disability due to (which I am blessed for) being under my mom's insurance to cover my treatments and medical costs, covering what Medicaid would not.
I hope an outreach can eventually help me give back to those who have assisted me during this time and aided me through a loss I never expected.
Suicide is a topic that hits close to home for me, as I have struggled with treatment-resistant depression for the majority of my life, alongside other mental health conditions/illnesses.
Even if you cannot contribute, I would love thoughts, prayers, and advocacy for the mental health of all, whether this means you give to a charity or are simply kind to yourself or others. My father mattered, and so do you! ♡
I appreciate any assistance/funding, and am always happy to be contacted if needed. Thank you so much for your love, support, and well wishes, and for keeping us and my dad in your thoughts.
Please also think of his dogs as they adjust. I'm sure they miss my dad so much.
