Wingen Family Fund

We are all heartbroken by the sudden and unexpected passing of our friend, Neal Wingen, on Thursday, September 5th.

Anyone who was lucky enough to know Neal, would know immediately what a truly kind and generous man he was. He found no greater joy than spending time with his wonderful wife, Abby, and his sons, Sam, Tommy and Matthew. He coached many of the neighborhood boys in baseball over the years and, if his boys were playing in a Fremd baseball or basketball game, you would find Neal there offering quiet support.

His role of "father" was second only to his role as "husband" as his love for Abby was strong and deep. They worked as partners through many of life's difficulties that they faced, and found comfort in knowing that they had each other to rely on, no matter what. How fitting that Neal died in Abby's arms, surrounded by her love.

Neal was an amazing man. Extremely smart, extremely humble and extremely kind...not to mention extremely funny! He was one of the rare people that made you want to be better by just being around him.

We would like to offer support to Abby, Sam, Tommy and Matt because they will need it. Neal had just started a wonderful job which was going to provide the stability that the Wingen's so needed and deserved, and was also going to highlight Neal's engineering brilliance. Unfortunately, his loss will be felt deeply by those of us blessed to know him personally, and those that relied on him professionally.

We will miss Neal deeply, and we honor his legacy.
