Wine To Water: Cambodia
Donation protected
Hi friends and family!
Do you believe everyone has the right to clean water? I do too! I am excited to tell you that I will be going to Cambodia in the fall with Wine To Water. Wine To Water, an international non-profit water organization, is dedicated to providing clean water in sustainable and repeatable ways to as many people as possible.
As some of you may know I traveled to Nepal last year with Wine To Water and our team was able to provide over 1,000 people with clean water! I saw firsthand how the water crisis affects someone's everyday life, something we as Westerners may not be able to comprehend. Families in poverty often get their water from polluted ponds and rivers: water sources that are a breeding ground for infectious diseases. Women and children have to walk miles and wait in line hours for water, keeping them from school or work, unable to provide for themselves due to hours lost each day. Clean water can change someone's life, allowing them not only improved health, but transform the trajectory of their life. In addition to providing clean water, our team had the opportunity to pray with the people and show God’s love for them while we were there. My trip to Nepal not only changed their lives, but my life as well.
I will be traveling with a small team to Cambodia from September 22, 2017 to October 1, 2017. Still recovering from years of civil war and genocide, much of the Cambodian population still struggles with water access and improved sanitation. One of the longest running Wine To Water project sites, we are seeing the impact that clean water can have in transforming communities. Our team will be digging wells and latrines in addition to teaching hygiene lessons. We will also have the opportunity to follow-up with past well/latrine recipients. In bringing safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene to children and families we will be able to improve the quality of their lives.
At Wine To Water we are committed to traveling to the ends of the earth to provide clean water to those in need because we believe that water is life. God calls us to love our neighbors, and that is what we plan to do on this trip. But we will not go alone. Through the power of community, God will work through all of us together to change the world on purpose. First, I ask that you partner with me in prayer. Pray with me for the people of Cambodia that we will encounter, that we will have opportunities to show God’s love to others, and that we will be able to provide many with clean water. Pray for safe travels and cohesiveness for our team. Next, I am asking for financial support for this trip. I will be raising $2,500 to cover lodging, food, and airfare. This will also cover some water project costs too! Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. The deadline for financial giving is Monday JULY 31!!
