Windsor & Chloe's Medical Relief Fund

Last night 3/27/19, one of our therapy horses, Windsor, was taken to the large animal hospital where he was diagnosed with an impaction (a blockage in his gastrointestinal track). Our staff members were up until the wee hours of the night caring for him until Hidden Acres dear friend Peter LaTronica arrived at 1:30 A.M. to take him to Fairfield Equine Animal Hospital. Windsor has been a cornerstone of our Therapeutic Riding and Equine Assisted Therapy programs for more than 6 years, and has been a beloved friend and confidant to hundreds of people that have stepped foot onto the farm. Currently the vets at Fairfield Equine are providing life saving measures and working hard to keep Windsor comfortable and help him to pass this impaction, but his condition is currently unstable. On top of Windsor falling sick another therapy horse, Chloe, was diagnosed with a fractured splint bone and impinged suspensory ligament on Tuesday afternoon. These medical emergencies have created a huge financial burden for Hidden Acres. It takes a village to provide for all of the therapy horses at Hidden Acres that do life changing work every day. As our village we are asking you to please help us bare the cost of these emergencies as we push through this incredibly difficult time.

We want to give a huge shout out to our staff members Angela Kennedy, Rebecca Caruso, and especially Will Garceau and Bruno who camped out with Windsor until 1:30 A.M. when he was taken to the hospital, and to Peter LaTronica who so graciously came and swooped him up to be taken to Fairfield Equine to be cared for.http://www.hiddenacrestrc.org/
