Bernice Franklin in need of a well for water

Hello my name is Crystal Freeman and I’m reaching out to the fellow community to ask for your help in the COMING -TOGETHER in raising money to get my mother BERNICE FRANKLIN a well dug so she can continue to reside in her home.

Here’s a little backstory on her situation. 26 years ago my mom and dad, Tommy, and Bernice Franklin retired to Tennessee from New Jersey. Most people in my mom and dads small community have a spring watering box. The neighbor allowed my dad permission to build a spring watering system on the neighbors property with a verbal agreement and a hand shake . Back then written agreements weren’t a big thing so a hand shake is what they had . Since then the neighbor and my dad have passed leaving my mom to live alone and the neighbors property to be sold. When the property sold a new owner took over. Unfortunately he has decided she can’t use the water system anymore without prior notice and she has now been without water for three weeks. She can’t live there without water and she’s too far from the city for city water. We tried to have an easement put in place or ask for it to be grandfathered in since she’s had it 26 years but without it being on paper, there is no way we can have that done . It’s very unfortunate but we understand both sides to this . We are just asking that the community come together to try and raise her money to continue to reside in her home. She cannot do so without running water. She is 79 years old and not able to work anymore or get around as easily as she used to. She’s also on a fixed income and cannot afford to take a loan out on the land in fear of knowing shes not able to pay it back .It’s not just land it’s where my father is buried and she walks out there everyday to sit with him for a while . I can’t imagine her not being able to live there and not be able to walk to my fathers grave everyday anymore over water . I don’t know what else to do besides, ask everybody to come together for her. Unfortunately, these well companies do not take payments. A 200 foot well starts at $14,000 and the deeper you get the more it goes up . If you can’t donate, that’s ok but please please share our story. All proceeds will go directly to her and getting a well dug so she can continue to reside in her home.
