Winchester Education Fund (for Ed's Kids)
Our hearts ache as we grapple with the loss of Ed Winchester. Ed passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, survived by his three children, Ava (15), Noah (13) and Rhys (10).
Ed was many things, including being a World Champion rower and an accomplished journalist. Ed was a widely-loved and respected member of the Dartmouth community, where his colleagues remember him as a humble yet decisive leader, a discerning thinker, a gifted storyteller, and an empathetic listener. Ed will be missed for his warm sense of humour, his infectious laughter, and his easy ability to connect with those around him.
In the weeks since his passing there has been an outpouring of tributes from across the world, demonstrating how powerfully Ed impacted the people around him. There has also been incredible support for Ed's family as they live through this difficult time. With current COVID-19 travel restrictions preventing extended family from physically being more present, we cannot thank those of you who have stepped up to support his family locally.
Ed achieved so much in his lifetime, but nothing meant as much to him as his children. As thoughts now turn to his kids' long-term needs, it seems appropriate to start fund raising for their education. In Ed's obituary information was shared about directly contributing to an education fund set up for them at the Mascoma Bank (80 S. Main Street, Hanover, NH, [phone redacted]). In order to make donating to the education fund easier, we are also launching this Go Fund Me.
Thank you for your support.
