This Go Fund me page was set up by friends of Des Vallely.
Back in January 2020, Des had a debilitating and life changing accident cycling
through Dublin city centre.
Shortly after his accident, the “Walk Des Home” campaign was setup.
The fantastic response to this campaign has really helped to facilitate Des

The money raised so far
has also assisted Des in his recovery journey in which he has made
remarkable progress. However, his rehabilitation is costly and will be on-going
for the foreseeable future.
As friends of Des, we were all deeply saddened by his tragic accident and the
effect it had on him and his family. We have also been humbled and uplifted by
the fight we have seen in Des and the giant steps he has made so far in getting
back to his old life. We want to help Des and his family in any way we can so
we have organised a “WimRise for Des” event / fundraiser. Hopefully this
event will help raise the money needed so Des can continue on his road to recovery.
Des has the spirit of a fighter and an adventurer, so for all you adventurous
souls who want to breathe with the rising sun and swim in the wild sea,
COME AND JOIN US!!
We will meet in the Killiney Hill Car Park at 7.30am on OCT 31st with Niall O Murchu (Breathe With Niall).
We will then walk into the forest to the ‘Temple of Trees’ andtake some time to breathe together
as the sun rises surrounded by trees. Then, for whoever would like to join us, we will make the short hike down to White Rock beach for a dip in the sea.
Please come prepared for sitting outside in the cold in a forest. It may be sunny, wet, cold or snowing.
Come prepared. You are responsible for your own comfort and safety.
