I’m struggling with putting this out there because it’s not ever easy for me to ask for help with anything but this isn’t just about me.

Today is our first “Gotcha Day”. I really don’t know what I did with myself before Wilson. It isn’t always easy (to put it mildly) having a puppy on my own but the return I’ve gotten is immeasurable. I am so proud, he loves everyone so freely and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. I love when strangers say that seeing him has made their day. It happens quite often! My gentle giant.

I was told by a specialist a few months ago what Wilson would need eye surgery. I put it off thinking that it was usual for a Newfie to have goopy eyes that drooped always and were red. What I realized was not normal was him not being able to open them in the morning until I cleaned them or he aggressively rubbed his head alongside the bed and never able to fully open his left eye.

Eyelid Entropion is the condition he has in both eye, his lower lids rolling inward causing irritation, infections and can lead to ulcers and ultimately blindness. No longer am I holding off, his surgery is scheduled for September 1st. The recovery won’t be easy or pretty but I know it will be worth it in the end.

I am asking for help to cover his surgical expenses. Again, it’s not easy for me to ask but I am putting the request out here.
