Wilson and Bay Coffee Club Christchurch Donation Fund

Hey all.

Lots of our regulars have asked me to set this up, based on the fact many want to visit to support our Christchurch Viewpoint store at present but really do not want to due to the current encampment on site. This is something we completely understand.

At present we are unsure how long the nature of the current situation could go on for.

We’re remaining open to show a united front yet the environment remains challenging to trade from.

Our Main focus right now is to not have to close, look after our team and be able to afford enough to keep enough staff on and maintain their hours of work.

In the background, we’re doing everything we can do to support our team. Ensuring no lone working, coaching, guidance on how to deal with the challenges we’re facing daily.

My Team are showing immense resilience and even in this situation, they are trying to show respect and patience.

The challenge we face is uncertainty. Many know these situations could take days or weeks.

Whilst you will be donating rather than buying a physical coffee or cake, I pledge that if this situation resolves within 5 days of creating this naturally or through procedures that we will donate at a minimum 30% in the first instance of the donations to one of my favourite charities. Shaw Trust enrich lives of young people in so many ways. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them before to enable young people with learning difficulties, coping with depression and other barriers they face getting on in life and into the wider world of work. It was one of my most enriching parts of my career to date.

As a pledge, we will provide updates monthly to you and the first opportunity we can to put back what we’ve restored if we no longer need it, we will.

I will be fully transparent about these measures via video myself on Social Media platforms via the Wilson and Bay Coffee Club pages.

I want to extend my gratitude for all the support so far. It has been truly humbling.
