Kevin and I rescued Wilma a little over a year ago. She came from devastating conditions. Wilma, along with many other animals, was seized from an animal hoarding house in rural Tennessee. She was bred and forced to have several litters of puppies while living in filth. Wilma was taken by a rescue and fostered up in Boston. While Kevin was on tour up there, the rescue brought in several puppies to raise adoption awareness. Wilma was much older than the other dogs, extremely timid, and kept to herself. Kevin spotted her immediately, however, and after holding her for over an hour he was in love. He called me and I arranged her transport to Knoxville where I picked her up three days later. The first time I met Wilma, I knew how special she was. I also knew that she had never fully bonded with a human, nor had she known true love and nurturing. For some reason, Wilma and I fell madly in love in about ten minutes. She was meant to be my girl. I showered her with affection and showed her all the things she had never experienced before (pup cups included). I was told that Wilma was ‘a loner who kept to herself’, but Wilma just needed to know she was loved because she never leaves my side. She went from a timid, quiet lady, to a feisty adventurous gal who knows without a doubt that I will fight for her forever.

Wilma has had a difficult life that no dog should experience. I just want to give her as much time as I possibly can, filled with all of the love and adventure she deserves. We have spent thousands on her already, and her six month cancer treatment will come to around exactly the amount I would like to raise for her. Even if you can only give a few dollars, I promise you it will mean the world to Kevin and I. We are so grateful for our friends and we hope you will help us fight for Wilma! She deserves so much more than the cards she has been dealt in this life so far.
