Medical Expenses for Willy Fogg
Donation protected
Dear family, friends, fellow Maine Maritime students & faculty, and fellow bike riders,
On Tuesday, August 4th, Willy was happily riding his motorcycle with his friend when tragedy struck. He was involved in a very bad crash and he was rushed to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for emergency treatment and surgery.
He is stabilizing, but he has a long road ahead of him. He will be in the hospital for a while, and will most likely have follow-up treatment. The medical bills and expenses are already scarily mounting, and his family is worried.
Willy is a student at Maine Maritime Academy, and only has student insurance coverage. He works too to supplement his educational expenses, but he’ll be out of work for lengthy period of time.
Those of you who know Willy will understand that his attitude will help him persevere. He’s always tried to make people laugh and has a ridiculously happy grin for everyone. He’s an active and outdoorsy guy, and being injured so badly is going to take its toll – he’s not used to (and doesn’t like) being forced to be still. He’s strong – physically and mentally – and he’ll get through this, no doubt barreling his way above and beyond expectations.
At times like this, Willy and his family should be focusing on healing and support, and not worrying about money and expenses. We’re hoping that we can help take some of the pressure off and allow them to focus on helping Willy get back on the road to his normal activities and life. If you are in a position to donate – any amount would be helpful.
Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts, prayers, hugs, notes and messages. We are all truly blessed to count so many wonderful people as friends and family.
Visitors are limited at this time to immediate family, but please feel free to post a message here, to his Facebook page or even send a card or flowers to him at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
